Santa Maria Health School (Escola Superior Saúde Santa Maria)

Climate action

In recent years, the Santa Maria Health School (ESSSM) has been committed to creating initiatives that can respond to the consequences of climate change, as well as providing, with its academic community, a greater awareness of the importance of environmental education. As such, ESSSM has contributed to making sustainable development a reality through several measures such as: the placement of smart taps and filtered water dispensers; installation of LED light bulbs throughout the School, and solar panels; making the archive paper free and the limitation of printouts per employee; placement of EcoPoints in each department and corridors of the institution, and the encouragement of students to share rides, especially for internship locations.

Therefore, ESSSM is extremely proud to sign the Porto Climate Pact because it believes that only by working together can we achieve the goals established by the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) proposed by the UN in the “Transforming our world: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development”.

Testimony

There is no Planet B, but we can help build Planet P, for Porto and Pact, as in the Climate Pact. We are P.!
