Founded in 2018, Critical TechWorks is a joint venture between the BMW Group and Critical Software. It develops software engineering solutions exclusively for the BMW Group, across a wide range of areas including autonomous driving, mobility, onboard software, connected car technology, data analytics, electrification, production, and logistics. Critical TechWorks is driven by a bold vision for the future of the automotive industry and currently employs over 2,700 people across its offices in Porto, Lisbon, and Braga.

Climate Action
CTW has already implemented several climate action measures, including an exclusively electric and hybrid vehicle fleet and a reduction in corporate air travel to help lower its carbon footprint. The management of its facilities also focuses on energy efficiency, aiming to reduce energy consumption and prioritizing low-consumption equipment.
