El Corte Inglés

Climate action

El Corte Inglés has worked over the years to make its activity more sustainable, minimising the impact on the environment through actions that start with increasingly more responsible production strategies and the improvement of waste management, having already obtained the Zero Waste certification in its centres and logistics platforms. El Corte Inglés has reduced carbon emissions by promoting the use of less polluting means of transport, both with customers and employees, and even in its deliveries. El Corte Inglés has implemented a system that allows for better management of water consumption, has changed its light bulbs to LEDs, runs several campaigns to promote Portuguese brands and local purchases, has several parking spaces for electric vehicles and bicycles, promotes the use of bicycles through attractive campaigns, and many more initiatives.

Testimony

El Corte Inglés joins the Porto Climate Pact, thereby reaffirming its commitment to making its activity more sustainable, reducing its ecological footprint and CO2 emissions, and seeking to minimise the environmental impact on the cities where it operates. We are “On the Move for Sustainability” and, together with other partners and public entities, we will fulfil the goals we have set to honour our commitment to society and the environment.
