Founded in 1808, Fidelidade is the market-leading insurance company in Portugal, with a presence in 14 countries across 4 continents. With sustainability at the core of its business and a vision to prepare for the future, Fidelidade is committed to driving behavioral change in society, raising awareness of the role and impact of individuals in adopting more sustainable practices.
Climate action
Fidelidade is committed to achieving Net Zero by 2050 in its insurance and investment dimensions, with an even more ambitious goal for its operations—Net Zero by 2040. To reach this target, intermediate milestones have been set across three key areas: operations, investments, and underwriting. Fidelidade’s commitment and concern for climate change are also reflected in the creation of a research center dedicated to climate change—the ICCC (Impact Center for Climate Change). This knowledge hub focuses on the in-depth study of climate change, aiming to mitigate risks and propose effective solutions for the protection of the planet, people, and resources, in collaboration with various organizations. Additionally, Fidelidade is developing a Forest Fund, designed to ensure the responsible management of forestry assets and related real estate, safeguarding profitability, risk, and liquidity criteria while protecting the interests of stakeholders and invested capital.
Testimony
Sustainability is at the heart of Fidelidade’s business. We have been working towards a more resilient society and a more sustainable future. As part of our Net Zero commitment and our ambition to mitigate and adapt to climate change, Fidelidade is proud to sign the Porto Climate Pact. This is an important step in our journey, reinforcing our commitment to climate action and the achievement of our Net Zero Plan. Becoming a signatory of this Pact allows us to collaborate with other committed signatories who share the same goals and ambition, enriching knowledge sharing and raising societal awareness of Sustainable Development.
