The Cooperativa de Solidariedade Social do Povo Portuense was founded in 1900. It is a prestigious institution with a cooperative foundation, rooted in the city of Porto. Over the past 125 years, our work has spanned various areas, always guided by a single purpose: to serve the common good.

Climate action

As a member organization of the International Cooperative Movement, our actions are guided by the principle of “sustainable community development through policies approved by our eighteen thousand members.”

Measures already implemented by our Cooperative to combat climate change include:
a. More rational use of electrical equipment at the Cooperative’s headquarters;
b. Gradual replacement of traditional lighting with LED systems;
c. Encouraging the use of public transport by employees, board members, and cooperative members.
