Associação Comercial do Porto

Founded in 1834, in the aftermath of the liberal movements, the Porto Commercial Association is today the oldest business association in Portugal.

It was established with the mission of being a meeting point and a center for reflection, defending the interests of its business community and advocating for a more competitive environment that fosters progress and wealth creation.

Climate action

The ACP actively promotes strategic projects that contribute to the harmonious and sustainable development of the country. In this regard, it has paid particular attention to transport and infrastructure issues, focusing on their economic, social, and environmental impact. Examples include the expansion of the railway network and national ports.

Additionally, ACP has invested in improving the energy efficiency of the Palácio da Bolsa, its headquarters and property, by upgrading its lighting systems and renovating the building’s roofs.

Testimony

Promoting development based on environmental sustainability is not just a challenge—it is a shared responsibility. It is with this principle in mind that the Porto Commercial Association carries out its activities, aiming to foster a networked approach that moves in this direction.
