The Transformers Movement is an NGDO (Non-Governmental Development Organization) dedicated to increasing civic and social participation through three key areas of intervention:

• Volunteering, which takes shape in intervention projects with at-risk children and youth as well as isolated seniors.
• Promotion of youth and student association programs.
• Raising public awareness about the importance of citizen participation.

Climate action

Our sustainability plan includes a zero-waste policy. We are partners with LIPOR, which provides training to our community. Through the Superpowers Schools Project, we work weekly with more than 400 young people, focusing on the Climate Action SDG, with each group developing projects that reduce environmental impact in their communities. We also implemented a climate change bootcamp with a youth focus, as part of the European #ClimateOfChange campaign.

Testimony

As an organization that systemically promotes citizenship, and with climate action as one of our priorities, we could not miss the opportunity to be part of this pact. Over the last 12 years, we have impacted more than 10,000 young people and hundreds of volunteers, working from Porto to the entire national territory. Being part of this collective action is not only a civic duty but also our responsibility.
