Escola Profissional do Infante

The Escola Profissional do Infante (EPI) is an educational institution with over 30 years of experience, whose primary mission is to educate and train young people in the region, equipping them with the skills necessary for professional careers. EPI provides its students and trainees with high-quality education, enabling them to develop knowledge and competencies that support lifelong learning, granting access to higher education or direct entry into the job market, depending on their individual career goals.

Climate action

Aware of the importance of preserving, protecting, and improving environmental quality, EPI has implemented measures to promote more sustainable and responsible behaviors, including the use of digital platforms to digitize administrative, educational, and training processes; prudent and rational use of natural resources through automatic water dispensers, the use of recycled products, and the reuse of materials and equipment. The school also prioritizes energy efficiency in its training facilities, aiming to improve energy performance by adopting passive energy-saving measures and encouraging the use of more efficient equipment.

Additionally, through a circular economy approach, EPI follows a model of production and consumption that includes sharing, renting, reusing, repairing, refurbishing, and recycling materials and products whenever possible.

Testimony

Recognizing the importance of contributing to sustainable development as a way to improve the quality of life and well-being of both present and future generations—while balancing economic growth, environmental protection, and social justice—signing the Porto Climate Pact reinforces EPI’s commitment to integrating sustainable development policies, practices, and actions into its operations.
