The Social Action Services of the University of Porto (SASUP) result from the consolidation of a remarkable path in social action policies, continuously rethinking strategies and adapting to the ever-evolving challenges faced by those at the core of our mission—students. We are deeply committed to promoting a culture of care, proximity, and inclusion, in a mission that requires everyone’s commitment. We believe that investing in higher education is always the best strategy to counteract generational immobility, promote social cohesion, and foster the development of new talents.

Climate action

SASUP has implemented sustainable measures, such as reducing the use of napkins and plastic in its cafeterias, promoting circular economy practices, and encouraging sustainable water consumption by reducing the use of single-use plastic. Our residences and food service units have been awarded the Green Heart Certificate by Lipor, recognizing their best practices in waste management. Additionally, SASUP actively promotes awareness campaigns on climate change.

SASUP wholeheartedly signs the Porto Climate Pact, fully aware that climate transition is a global imperative and a collective responsibility. As an organization deeply committed to social and environmental responsibility, we recognize that this act is more than a formality—it is a concrete step toward a more sustainable and equitable future.
