Climate action

Mitigating the impacts of the climate crisis is a monumental task and it is pivotal that everyone takes urgent and immediate action. In order to achieve the goals of the Paris Agreement, Deloitte has launched WorldClimate, a global strategy to drive responsible climate choices within our firm and across its sphere of influence. Deloitte is committed to measurable and decisive actions on climate change, empowering its professionals and engaging the broader community for the creation of solutions that make the transition to a low-carbon economy easier.

Deloitte’s near-term greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction target has been validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) as science-based targets aligned at 1.5°C and include:

  • Reduce direct and indirect absolute GHG emissions in electricity consumption by 70% by 2030
  • Reduce GHG emissions from business travel by 50% per FTE by 2030
  • Engage with our main suppliers with the goal of getting 67% of them aligned with the SBTi by 2025.

Deloitte’s additional 2030 targets to reduce emissions also include:

  • 100% renewable energy supply in buildings
  • 100% fleet conversion to hybrid and electric vehicles
  • Investment in meaningful market solutions for emissions that are not likely to be eliminated.
  • Creation of innovative climate solutions regarding systems and operations,

Deloitte’s next step will be to assess long-term emission reduction targets following the SBTi standard to continue our journey towards a net-zero world by 2050. Deloitte is part of the Business Ambition for 1.5°C and UNFCCC Race to Zero campaign.
