KPMG

Climate action

In 2019, we achieved and exceeded the target set by KPMGI for 2020 to reduce CO2 emissions per capita (FTE) by 10% compared to 2016 (KPMG Global Climate Response). In fact, CO2 emissions per capita (FTE) in Portugal fell 45% in that period. For this decade (2020-2030), KPMGI has set new and ambitious targets for reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. As a result, a new global commitment to becoming a net-zero carbon organisation by 2030 (Our Impact Plan) has been defined.

To reach this commitment, 3 major goals were defined (Our Impact Plan):
– Reduce greenhouse gas emissions (direct and indirect) by 50% between 2019 and 2030;
– Supply of 100% renewable electricity by 2022;
– Offset any remaining emissions that we cannot remove from our operations and supply chain by investing in carbon offsets.

Testimony

It is with great enthusiasm that KPMG has signed the Porto Climate Pact, through which we commit to helping the city to evolve, not only with the carbon neutrality of our offices in Porto, but also inspiring others to follow our path, because success, more and more, is no longer measured only by profit, but more by its positive impact on society.
