Climate action
Our solution is to pick up the elderly from their homes and retirement homes to take them for a ride on adapted electric bikes, driven by volunteer riders. This is a deconfined and mostly carbon-free activity, occurring mainly due to the force of human energy, since the electric engine is only used when it is not possible to pedal without assistance. Even so, this year we are committed to measuring our carbon footprint, taking into account the kilometres we travel versus cycle, consumption, and charging time for electric bicycle batteries. The results are quite inspiring:
FOR EVERY 100 KM:
- Carbon production of the best-selling car in Portugal (Renault Clio Gasoline) – 105 g
- Carbon production Triobike bicycle – 0.16 g
Testimony
We pedal for the Right for Wind in our Hair; for a more unpolluted and cyclable city. We also pedal for more sustainable communities and for the fight against indifference, in favour of inclusion. We signed the Climate Pact because we are the only deconfined and intergenerational transport solution available to older adults. Our vehicles take our passengers far, to places where cars do not circulate: parks and gardens, walkways, beaches, museums, all the while building a genuine relationship with the driver.
